Smelting process
In the smelting process, briquettes and recycled raw materials are fed into a rotary kiln. In the rotary kiln, the temperature of the briquettes and recycled raw materials is slowly raised over about 10 hours by the heat from the combustion burner and the heat from combustion of the reducing material inside the briquettes. The briquettes and recycled raw materials burn, the reducing of the ore progresses, ferro-nickel grows, and the clinker is roasted.
