Nippon Yakin Kogyo’s POLKA PLATE® won the Gold Award

POLKA PLATE, our round-dot patterned stainless steel plate, won the Gold Award in the Market Development

category of the 2024 Stainless Steel Industry Awards organized by worldstainless, which referred to itself as the

International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) before its renaming in 2022.

Worldstainless consists of the world’s major stainless steel manufacturers and related organizations. It is an

international nonprofit organization that aims to enable the stainless steel industry to grow through surveys and

promotional activities.The Industry Awards are held every year. Awards are presented in four categories, Market

Development, Technology, Safety and Sustainability.

Nippon Yakin Kogyo’s original round-dot patterned POLKA PLATE is a steel plate made of SUS304 designed to be

used for stainless floors.The anti-slip properties of POLKA PLATE are equivalent to checkerboard patterned plate

while being superior in terms of water drainage and cleanability, so its applications include factory floors, stairs,

stages and many others in many different industries, such as the food, cosmetics chemicals and daily necessities

industries.

Besides its excellent anti-slip properties, water drainage and cleanability, POLKA PLATE is easier to move than

checkerboard patterned plate when using a roll box pallet and reduces the noise levels of rolling sound. Because

of these advantages, we have worked to expand the product’s applications to include the floors of box trucks’

cargo areas, professional-use elevators and more.In addition, the expected applications of POLKA PLATE include

floors and slopes in hospitals and nursing care and welfare facilities, places many wheelchairs and emergency beds

move across the floor surface.

POLKA PLATE’s round-dot pattern has a characteristically soft impression and, by adjusting its position, it is possible

to cut or weld only the non-round-dot parts of the product. For this reason, expected applications include commercial

facilities which typically require excellent design.
